One million plastic water bottles sold every minute worldwide, with a devastating impact on the health of the planet and all its inhabitants. A product that is generally less safe than tap water.
It is estimated that for only two of the world’s six billion human beings is bottled water a necessity. Governments must take responsibility for leading the fight against unnecessary plastic in every country where access to this fundamental resource is guaranteed and tap water is safe. In Italy, government initiatives are currently in short supply, even if something is happening at a local level.
