The piùblu clean-up action in Genoa on the occasion of World Rivers Day was held with the endorsement of the Municipality, the participation of the Circolo Nautico Sturla A.S.D. and the Società Sportiva Murcarolo, in collaboration with Nicolò Di Tullio — world and European champion in the Surf Lifesaving category — together with volunteers from the Consorzio Ocean Agorà.
Oltre 60 volontari muniti del kit di raccolta piùblu si sono dati appuntamento sulla spiaggia di Sturla da dove sono entrati in azione sia a piedi che a bordo di barche da canotaggio, SUP e canoe al motto “WE CAN BLU IT!“
In approximately four hours of clean-up they cleared the beach and the adjoining waters, collecting dozens of bags of plastic waste such as crates, bottles and microplastics.
We are deeply grateful to the Municipality of Genoa, to the members of the Clubs, and to all the volunteers who took part in the clean-up! Shared love for the environment and nature multiplies the result!
We are already working on new collective awareness-raising initiatives. In the meantime, below you will find a collection of clean-up photos.
