WE CAN BLU IT! 2025
A national mobilisation for the protection of rivers, lakes and seas.
The new edition of WE CAN BLU IT! took place on September 27th, the national initiative promoted by piùblu ets to clean rivers, lakes, and seas and to raise awareness about water protection.
Participation involved over 60 clubs across Italy, with widespread engagement from north to south. In Rome, all clubs active on the Tiber took part in the initiative alongside Consip — a new project partner — contributing to a shared action of civic education and environmental care. Over 350 people gathered along the river.
Nationally, the initiative involved 35–40 Italian cities, with a strong turnout of athletes, citizens, associations and local organisations committed to cleaning their own environments.
The results reflect the scale of the intervention: approximately 20 cubic metres of waste collected in Rome and approximately 100 cubic metres across the rest of Italy. The Rome figure also highlights a significant detail: the Tiber is showing some signs of improvement, the result of work carried out with continuity over the years.
WE CAN BLU IT! confirmed the possibility of building a broad, concrete and recognisable mobilisation around the care of our waters.
